Kinde has become a popular choice for SaaS teams: hosted sign-in pages you can restyle with your own HTML and CSS, organizations for B2B, and billing features alongside authentication. At the time of writing (October 2026) its free plan includes 10,500 monthly active users, a custom domain, two-step verification and one enterprise SSO connection, though Kinde’s branding stays on until you pay. Its paid plans are Pro at $25 a month, Plus at $75 and Scale at $250, each including the same 10,500 users, with extra users from $0.0175 down to $0.0151. Teams still look elsewhere — for a different pricing model, a different data location, or a simpler product. Here are five alternatives.

1. Alt Auth — for a simple, branded, EU-hosted login

Alt Auth does one job: a ready-made sign-up, sign-in and password-reset flow that carries your brand, plus a dashboard to manage your users. Integration is a redirect — users sign in on your branded page and come back with a one-time code your backend exchanges for their details and a signed session token — so it works with any stack and needs nothing installed. Data is stored in the EU and the service is run by WeNoCode OÜ in Estonia.

  • Hobby: free up to 1,000 active users, email/password and Google sign-in, small “Secured by Alt Auth” badge.
  • Starter, $29: 10,000 users included, your logo and colours, no badge, two-step verification, user import.
  • Growth, $99: 30,000 users included, full design control, Facebook sign-in, sign-in links by email, your own web address, webhooks and audit logs.
  • Business, $299: 100,000 users included, unlimited apps and team members, a dedicated customer success manager.
  • Not yet: company single sign-on, Apple and Microsoft sign-in are coming soon. Kinde has enterprise SSO today.
“If you want login, and only login, done well and on-brand, a narrower product is often the better one.”— The Alt Auth Team

2. Clerk — for React and Next.js teams

Clerk’s pre-built components are among the nicest in the market if you build with React. Its free plan includes 50,000 monthly retained users per app; Pro is $25 a month and adds two-step verification, passkeys, removal of Clerk branding and one enterprise SSO connection. It is less of a natural fit outside the React world.

3. Auth0 — for enterprise depth

Auth0’s free plan covers up to 25,000 monthly active users with a custom domain, passwordless login and one enterprise connection. Paid plans start at $35 a month for consumer apps and $150 for B2B, quoted for 500 active users. You get one of the deepest feature sets available — at the cost of more configuration and a steeper bill as you grow.

4. Supabase Auth — if you already use Supabase

Supabase Auth is open source (MIT) and supports passwords, magic links, one-time codes, social login, SAML single sign-on and multi-factor authentication. The free plan includes 50,000 monthly active users; Pro is $25 a month with 100,000 included. It is at its best when your data already lives in Supabase’s Postgres.

5. Better Auth — if you want to own the code

Better Auth is a free, MIT-licensed TypeScript framework that runs inside your app and stores users in your own database. Its plugins cover two-step verification, passkeys, organizations, magic links and SSO. There is no per-user fee for the framework; an optional managed dashboard with audit logs and security detection starts free, with a $20-a-month Pro plan. The trade-off is that you run, secure and upgrade it yourself.

How to choose

If having authentication and billing in one place is why you chose Kinde, staying put may well be right. If you need enterprise depth, look at Auth0. If you want React components, look at Clerk. If you want everything in your own codebase, Better Auth. And if what you need is a secure, branded login with a predictable bill and EU data hosting, Alt Auth is built for exactly that.
