Why teams look for a Auth0 alternative

Lots of users included on the first paid plan

At the time of writing, Auth0’s B2C Essentials plan starts at $35 a month for 500 monthly active users. Alt Auth Starter is $29 a month with 10,000 active users included.

A login that looks like your product

Logo and colours from Starter, full control of fonts, buttons and backgrounds on Growth, your own domain from Growth, and no Alt Auth name at all on Enterprise.

A dashboard your whole team can use

See who signed up and from where, block or invite users in one click, and get failed-login alerts — without writing rules or code.

When Auth0 is the better choice

We would rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one. Stay with Auth0 if:

  • You need a large free tier: Auth0’s free plan covers up to 25,000 monthly active users; Alt Auth Hobby covers 1,000.
  • You need company single sign-on (SAML) today — on Alt Auth it is still coming soon.
  • You need Apple or Microsoft sign-in right now, or data hosted outside the EU (Auth0 offers several regions).
  • You want to import existing password hashes so nobody has to set a new password.

Migrating from Auth0 to Alt Auth

  1. 1

Export your users from Auth0 (email, name and sign-up date are enough).

  2. 2

Create a free Alt Auth project, add your logo and colours, and turn on the sign-in methods you use today (Google on every plan, Facebook from Growth).

  3. 3

Point your app’s “Sign in” button at your Alt Auth login page and verify the signed token it returns — usually an afternoon of developer work.

  4. 4

Import your users from a CSV file (from Starter). Password hashes are not imported: people set a new password through a reset email, or simply continue with Google.

  5. 5

Run both side by side for a while, then switch the old provider off once everyone has signed in.
